Rastreo is a brand new, improvised, instrumental quartet album by acclaimed guitarist Oliver Wood of The Wood Brothers, far out, grooving bass player, Ted Pecchio (Colonel Bruce Hampton, Doyle Bramhall, Tedeschi Trucks), magically versatile drummer Mark Raudabaugh (Sierra Hull, Donna the Buffalo, Jim Lauderdale) and Matt Glassmeyer of New York and Nashville improvised scenes on his own strange Wurlitzer and percussion (Meadownoise, Lambchop, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.)
Each track, pushed to the tape with spontaneity and intention, pits energy and tone against deference and space -- so far a dead-heat.
